Designed by New York architects Diller, Scofidio + Renfro with support from UK based architects Austin-Smith:Lord, V&A East Storehouse is a purpose-built home for over 250,000 objects, 350,000 library books and 1,000 archives. Offering an entirely new Museum experience, this fascinating space houses some of the oldest, to the smallest, objects in the V&A’s collection, and is interspersed with colossal architectural fragments and room sets.
From June 2025, this unique space, unlike any other Museum space in London, is available to hire out of hours, for unforgettable dinners, private views, or as an iconic backdrop to a drinks reception.
At the heart of the building is an awe-inspiring, cavernous central Collections Hall. This immersive space is surrounded by four huge floors of storage shelves and racking systems, with open shelves and objects as far as the eye can see. This space can be hired for an unforgettable dinner experience for 200, with arrival drinks in the Welcome lobby. Or perhaps a drinks reception for 300, where guests can mingle amongst priceless works of art.
