Our final large production of 2021 was a gala awards show at the V&A, celebrating photography and sustainability. Prestigious and highly technically demanding, it called on all our resources to bring the event to life safely, speedily and snag-free.
‘Fire’ was the topical theme for the ninth Prix Pictet Awards. As well as informing the powerful shortlisted images, this gave us our inspiration for the production.
The entire event was branded with fire effects and lighting, from the grand entrance to the bespoke stage and backdrop. The technical challenge was immense, requiring two articulated trucks’ worth of equipment to be installed in just over an hour without harming the fabric of the hallowed V&A interior. We applied our signature professionalism and precision to the task.
This was also a hybrid event, with hosts and speakers appearing both in person and virtually. Our epic projection screens enabled the winner, US artist Sally Mann, to give her acceptance speech from across the pond.
“A very big thank you to you and the Focus team for making this year’s Prix Pictet happen without a hitch. Everything looked fantastic (glad we got to use the flames for one last time!) and the live stream was flawless.”
